The Pathfinder Peer Educator Program promotes holistic wellness through peer-to-peer consultations available to all UCI students. Pathfinders are trained to assess and identify student academic, mental, socio-emotional, financial, and campus belonging needs as well as directly connect students to campus resources. Pathfinders seek to stay aware of students' needs to elevate concerns and better advocate for resources to continue to improve UCI undergraduate retention rates, especially for first-generation, low-income, and historically underrepresented students.

Pathfinder sessions include:

  • Peer-to-peer coaching for students
  • Identify and address student needs
  • Navigate and connect to campus resources and services
  • Create an individual action plan for student success

    Hello! I am a 4th-year student majoring in Psychological Science and minoring in Japanese Studies. I hope to apply the knowledge and skills I gain from my academics to my communities. In my spare time, I enjoy watching anime, listening to music, playing basketball, trying new foods, and learning new things. I joined SOAR because I resonate with its core values and want to support students who may feel lost when navigating college.

    Hi! I am a 3rd year Psychological Science and Chicano/Latino Studies double major! My goal is to become a social worker and help underserved communities find their voice and their passions! Outside of SOAR, I love spending time with my family and friends, and enjoy to cook and try new foods/recipes. I joined SOAR because I want to engage with and support students that need an ear to listen or help navigate through college!

    Chloe is a 4th year majoring in History and Anthropology. She is interested in studying disability-focused and decolonized fashion history. Being at SOAR has taught her that mentorship is essential to assist underrepresented communities to grow to their full potential in higher education. As a Pathfinder Peer Educator, she wants to encourage students with intersectionalities, facing a multitude of challenges, pursue opportunities that will enhance their perspectives including creating less stigma about accessing disability-centered resources.

    Brionna is a fourth year undergraduate studying Criminology, law & society, urban planning, and public policy. She is passionate about ending mass incarceration, and participating in and creating equitable research practices. As a first generation college student, she strives to help fellow students of similar backgrounds find community on campus and learn to make and take space.

    Priscilla is a third-year Criminology, Law and Society major and is interested in helping disrupt the school-to-prison pipeline. She is from Los Angeles and enjoys spending her free time at the beach, watching movies, trying new food spots, and hanging out with friends! She is excited to be a part of SOAR to ensure marginalized students receive the resources and support they need!

    Emi is a 3rd-year student majoring in Psychological Sciences and minoring in Japanese Studies. She enjoys reading, listening to music, playing basketball, and learning new things in her spare time. As a Peer Educator, she is looking forward to sharing the great resources that the SOAR Center offers and helping other students discover their passions and overcome obstacles to reach their goals in higher education.

As a first-generation college student, she is determined to support students who have endured the same challenges she has, and she believes SOAR is the right place to continue that service in aiding underrepresented communities. She enjoys traveling, spending time with family, and drinking coffee 24/7
