Mission Statement

The Native American Recruitment Initiative (NARI) supports SOAR’s mission by enhancing Native American educational access at UCI through cultural outreach programs, college and lifestyle workshops, and community bonding, aiming to increase recruitment and enrollment of Native American students in higher education.

Objectives and Key Features

Objectives:

1. Promote Educational Access: Develop and implement programs to bridge the educational gap for Native American students
2. Facilitate College Preparation: Organize workshops focused on academic skills, college applications, financial aid, and transitioning to higher education.
3. Increase Community Engagement: Build strong partnerships with Native American communities and organizations at UCI and beyond to enhance outreach efforts and support students’ educational journeys.
4. Encourage Cultural Empowerment: Celebrate and integrate Native American traditions and culture into all initiatives, promoting a sense of belonging at UCI.
5. Enhance Collaboration: Work with student organizations like AISA and campus departments to create sustainable, culturally relevant programs for outreach and support.

2. Outreach Programs: Initiatives aimed at primary, secondary, and community college students to encourage higher education enrollment.
