Employment Opportunities Student Coordinators
SOAR is student-initiated and student-driven. Every year we hire highly motivated undergraduate students who are passionate about outreach and retention to coordinate our programs. SOAR student coordinators work closely with professional staff and student clubs and organizations to promote student development and campus engagement. They serve on advisory committees, coordinate and facilitate educational seminars, plan events, and provide peer support.
Application: End of Winter Quarter or end of summer.
Student Ambassador Program
The Ambassador Program is for second and third year undergraduate students who are interested in learning about higher education and want to develop professional and administrative skills. As part of the program, SOAR Ambassadors participate in a three quarter seminar to learn about the first-year transition and student support resources and services. They have the opportunity to propose and initiate their own Retention Project and implement it during the Winter and Spring quarters.

Volunteer for High School & Community College Campus Visits
SOAR offers many opportunities for students to volunteer and serve host Title I high schools and community colleges on their campus visit to UCI. Volunteers can participate by giving alternative campus tours and sitting on student panels. As they share their educational trajectories and college experiences, volunteers often become a great source of motivation for prospective students.
Volunteer Form: Available year-round.
Antleader Mentorship Program
In partnership with the Associated Students at UC Irvine (ASUCI), SOAR seeks to enhance the first year experience of freshmen and transfer students. AMP helps antleaders transition to UCI, develop skills for academic success, and engage in leadership activities. Some benefits of participating in AMP: Learn about campus resources, Network with other students, Build self-confidence, leadership and communication skills, Participate in free socials and events.
Application for Mentees: End of summer and beginning of Fall Quarter.
